Work for Amazon

This is not for the faint of heart OR for people who need to move their bodies a lot, but for a select few working as a Mechanical Turk for Amazon can be a rewarding way to earn some side money.

There is no guarantee of riches but it is completely possible to get good enough to make between 8 and 12 dollars an hour, at your own pace, on your time and you even get to choose the jobs.

One thing to remember with Mechanical Turk is that you have to practice and get good at it, otherwise you are making pennies an hour. Here is another hub on how to become an amazing Mechanical Turk.

eBay Consultant

Do you know how to find the right products to turn a profit on eBay? If you don't already know how, learn to sell on eBay. It is a great way to make some side money and if you get really good at it, you can start marketing yourself as a pro.

People love to learn how to make money and there is always a need for new teachers of skills like this. You could even combine your eBay skills with your craigslist skills and teach people how to make money with craigslist.

Transcribe Youtube Videos or other audio files

One of the first things an SEO learns about youtube is that search engines can't see video or audio, they can only see text. So how do you get your video to rank on Google? Create a text file from a transcription of your video and attach it as your caption file. Literally overnight your video will start getting more traffic.

Use this as a pitch when selling your transcription service. You could even include in your service uploading the .txt file onto your clients youtube account.

Fiverr.com Gigs

Some people make amazing money over at fiverr.com. The key for this one is to find out what you do really well, how much you want to make an hour and create a small enough process that you can repeat over and over and over again quickly and with high quality.

Here is a great book on how to make money on fiverr.com and here is a great hub to help you get rich on fiverr.com

One key point that I have found with fiverr is that the best gigs are ones with videos, they tend to rank well in the fiverr search and there seems to be a bit of a trust element that is added to the whole process which more people seem to like.

Become a virtual assistant

So many people need a quality virtual assistant. (I am actually on the search for one now). Usually the only requirement is the desire to impress your employer, a computer and a phone. You don't even have to speak English that well in a lot of cases.

Any experience in clerical work or phone sales or customer service will put you up and over your competition when trying to land that job. I know some virtual assistants that make minimum wage and I know some who won't even get out of bed for less than $50/hour. Building a reputation, gaining skills and growing your network will only lead to better pay, clients and more job satisfaction.

Build a small niche website

This is a hard, hard thing to do, but if you can do it it really can pay off huge!

If you are an internet geek AND you have a passion outside of computers you can combine those two things and create a website that sells other peoples products while giving you a very awesome commission.

The key here is going to be finding a great niche (one that people will buy things online from), building a super website that converts visitors into sales AND actually being able to get a healthy amount of visitors to your site using various SEO tactics.

Here is a great hub about niche site building and niche marketing

Help local businesses build their online business

There are so many things you could do to help small local businesses with their online presence. You could build them a website, or help them choose, organize and install a themeforest.net theme for them.

You could also put together a Local SEO package. If you know a little bit about SEO and can take the time to meet with and help clients, selling Local SEO packages can be a great start to working from home.

SEO Assistant

I also happen to be looking for one of these :-)

Can you write short SEO driven articles? Do you mind submitting websites to be socially bookmarked? How about endless hours of blog commenting? If these things don't frighten you off into the night running and screaming, than you might just be able to work as an SEO assistant.

Most SEO's (myself included) are swamped with work. Making reports, developing strategies, monitoring efforts and building bigger links can take a lot of our time. We need help with the smaller more repetitive tasks. There certainly is software out there for most of what we need accomplished but Google is getting better and better and making sure that software doesn't work like it should, they want humans doing the work.

Start sending out emails to SEO's online and tell them you want to be their assistant. I guarantee you will be able to find a job that way. You will probably get a few offers that you could juggle to make sure there is always a steady flow of work. Best of all, after a while you will be able to learn the ins and outs of SEO and apply those skills to your own online projects.

Enter logo and design contests

99 designs. I don't think much more needs to be said except that I wouldn't try to rely on this as my full-time job. This is a good idea when trying to supplement your natural income. Of course, if you are a savant of design than you will probably win every competition you enter and end up making more than I do. In which case, I would love it if you would hire me for one of these jobs :-)

Sales Pro

I am not talking pyramid scheme here, nor am I talking about telemarketing. I am talking about finding a product that you love, one that has healthy commissions and just going to town making money for yourself.

Get yourself a business card, some nice clothes and read this book. You can make 6 figure incomes as a self employed, stay at home professional sales person.

You better like people and you better like hard work. Finding the right product, or even having a variety of products is a really good idea. The sky is the limit on this one, and in my mind this would be the choice for big thinkers and people who don't just want to "get by"

Great info. I have tried the Amazon one, but was not happy. For me, it was not the right fit. It would be great for people who are better writers than I am...

I've been using Mechanical Turk for a while (to save up for a new laptop). It's mind numbing, but if you have the extra time it's a sure way to make money!
